  Palladium Hotel Group continues to reinforce its firm commitment to sustainability with a structured approach to three fundamental areas: the environment, the circular economy and the social sphere. The hotel group, which is present in six countries around the world, has announced new advances in all its hotels globally, including: advocating renewable energies, the reduction of plastics, and a focus on working and supporting local producers.   Responsible Use of Energy   Regarding energy management, Palladium Hotel Group has been committed to the responsible use of resources and the reduction of its environmental impact. In Spain, 100% of the energy consumed in all Palladium Hotel Group’s properties comes from renewable energies, either via guarantees of origin or photovoltaic panel infrastructure for self-consumption. In Ibiza specifically, all the group's properties in Playa d'en Bossa, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa, have installed a total of 1.327 photovoltaic panels this season. This technology allows a peak power of 600 kWp. It is estimated that these installations will produce 746.000 kW and thus avoid 186.000 kg of CO2 emissions annually. In America, the company has installed a total of 11.088 photovoltaic panels in its resorts in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) and Jamaica. The latter has the largest plate installation in the entire group and in the country, and also has a trigeneration project where, by adding Natural Gas to the energy supply, electricity, heating and air conditioning are produced, reducing emissions in electricity consumption and water. This data shows that more than 20% of the Jamaican resort’s energy is renewable and avoids 157.000 kg of CO2 emissions per month. Furthermore, Palladium Hotel Group plans to expand this number of solar panels in the coming years, as well as using other sustainable energies and technologies including natural gas, thermal recovery systems, and the use of geothermal energy. With all of these measures considered, 20% of the global energy consumed in the establishments located in these six countries has a guarantee of renewable origin, a figure that Palladium Hotel Group hopes to raise to 50% this year.   Circular Economy   With the Palladium Hotel Group’s commitment and respect for the environment and community, initiatives are being developed under a circular economy model, based on three essential pillars: recovery, recycling and the reuse of waste. The hotel group ensures an exhaustive control of waste both in its hotels in Europe and America, with an aim to reduce wherever possible.  Along with this, the hotel company also stands out for its objective of reducing the use of single-use plastics through the replacement of single-dose dispensers and sustainable packaging in amenities and reusable packaging. Digitization is another of the determining processes in this area and one of the points on which the hotel company is focusing efforts, on the one hand, to improve the customer experience and, on the other, to reduce the impact of the production of paper materials and other media.   Local Product and Surrounding Environment   The local product is essential in the Palladium Hotel Group offer, counting on local suppliers in all the destinations in which it operates. The most recent have been those awarded to Palladium Hotel Menorca and TRS Ibiza Hotel, 2021 and 2022 respectively, as the best hotel sustainability and renovation projects in Spain by the ReThink Hotel association. Added to this recognition is the UNESCO commitment to sustainable travel signed by Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife and the EarthCheck Silver seal also awarded to the Tenerife hotel, as well as the EarthCheck Platinum designation for the Riviera Maya resorts and the Gold designation for the hotels from Jamaica, Brazil, Punta Cana and Riviera Nayarit; the Blue Flags in Riviera Maya or Punta Cana; the Distintivo S granted by the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico to Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts in Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit or the Cleaner Production certification of the Dominican Republic to the establishment of Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts in Punta Cana.

  Palladium Hotel Group has announced its news for 2022 at Spanish travel trade show FITUR, including further details of its highly-anticipated opening of TRS Ibiza Hotel.   At the event, the President of Palladium Hotel Group, Abel Matutes Prats, and the company’s CEO, Jesús Sobrino, weighed up the last year, in which some of the group’s important projects have come to fruition. This includes two hotels in Sicily: Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium Garden Beach Resort & Spa; as well as Palladium Hotel Menorca and the new Only YOU Hotels in Valencia and Málaga. Furthermore, the reopened BLESS Hotel Madrid remains under the management of Palladium Hotel Group after the acquisition of the property by RLH Properties - the most important sale in Spain last year in terms of room rate.   The company closed 2021 with a turnover of 445 million euros, 131% higher than in 2020 and 40% lower than in 2019. It expects to surpass 2019’s revenue this year as a result of recent project launches. These include the BLESS Collection Hotel brand, the repositioning of some European hotels and the natural evolution of the rest of the hotels managed in the Caribbean.   The Group’s President and CEO assessed their primary role as hotel managers. Located in Cala Gració, an area known for its exceptional sunsets, the five-star hotel will house 378 exclusive guestrooms and suites. TRS Ibiza Hotel is introducing TRS Select club, an innovative addition to its luxury all-inclusive concept, which includes a broad gastronomic and leisure offering through agreements with exclusive third-party restaurants in Ibiza. Furthermore, the new TRS Ibiza Hotel will offer guests an exclusive butler service focused on personalising the client experience.   This year TRS Ibiza Hotel has been recognised by the Re Think Hotel competition, awarded annually by Habitat Futura to the 10 best sustainability and hotel renovation projects in Spain.   In terms of growth and investment in product development, Palladium Hotel Group will carry out important alterations to its Jamaican hotels and Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa.
