British Airways expanding Nashville flights to daily service

Thursday, 10 Oct, 2018 0

British Airways’ new nonstop transatlantic service to Nashville is set to go daily next year.

The current five times a week service, which launched earlier this year, will expand to daily on March 31, 2019.

"British Airways launched its highly anticipated nonstop service from BNA to Heathrow Airport just five months ago, and the response and support from the community has been incredible," Nashville International Airport said in a release.

Tickets for the additional flights are now live on BA’s website.

Simon Brooks, BA’s SVP of sales for North America said: "We’re delighted to be offering daily services next summer between Nashville and London. Thank you to the city, airport officials and everyone involved in making this happen."

Meanwhile BA has been overtaken as the largest non-US carrier on transatlantic routes serving New York.

No frills airline Norwegian Air now carries an average 40,000 more passengers across the pond to New York.

"Fares have been too high for too long as transatlantic routes have been long dominated by carriers with outdated legacies running on fumes. Norwegian will continue to spread its wings to the Big Apple with a third-daily service between London and New York JFK from 28 October," the budget carrier said.

Norwegian carried 1.67 million passengers in the year to July, compared to BA’s 1.62 million, according to data from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Britsih Airways says its ‘commitment to Nnew York is as strong as ever.’
