Explore Holidays takes to the field with ‘Explore Germany 2006’

Thursday, 14 Nov, 2005 0

While an expectant Germany – along with most of the TV-watching world – is still warming up for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Explore Holidays has already taken to the field with the release of a new, diverse range of German travel ideas.

One of many new travel ideas on offer in ‘Explore Germany 2006’ is a six-day/five-night ‘Berlin & Fairytales’ coach touring program which features visits to the Pied Piper’s home town of Hameln and Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

Priced from $1042* per person twin share, the ‘Berlin & Fairytales’ encompasses Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, the medieval city of Celle, Hameln, Hofgeismar and Sababurg Castle, the home of Sleeping Beauty.

Beginning and concluding in Frankfurt, the price includes all accommodation, selected meals as per itinerary, all transportation and sightseeing.

Also hot off the press for 2006 are a choice of ‘Romantic Road’ itineraries which can be enjoyed on four-wheels as part of a five-day/four-night self-drive itinerary linking Frankfurt with Bavaria – and also on two as part of an eight-day/seven -night cycling tour which meanders into Austria en route.

Both itinerary plans encompass castles, ancient towns, forests and mountains and come complete with overnight accommodation as per travel plan.

Explore Holidays has also joined Germany with the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary via a 10-day/nine-night ‘Berlin – Budapest’ combined coach/cruise option including four-days sailing on the Danube.

Berlin, Dresden with Prague, Vienna and Budapest forming the backbone of the itinerary which, priced from $2372* per person, includes five-nights four-star hotel accommodation and four-nights on board a Danube cruise vessel, meals as specified, city tours and all transportation.

And what would a Europe brochure be these days without a mention of Denmark, Explore Holidays seizing on the excitement currently surrounding Denmark with a Hamburg – Copenhagen combination as the “Princess Mary and son’ phenomena continues to drive the destination’s ‘must see’ status in 2006.

‘The Viking Trail’ is priced from $849* per person twin share, inclusive of  two nights accommodation with breakfast in both cities, sightseeing tours and a Germany and Denmark rail pass*.

The package also includes the choice of one of two newly released Copenhagen ‘Hop on hop off’ tours – a 10-stop tour including Glypoteket, Christiansborg and the Carlsberg brewery or an alternate, somewhat more sober 11-stop tour including the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg and  Nyhavn.

‘Explore Germany 2006’ also offers a solid range of good new ideas for those visiting the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.

A temptingly-named ‘Champagne & Chocolate’ combination package priced from $1054* per person twin share connects Paris with Zurich.

Price includes three nights accommodation in Paris and two in Zurich, a tour of Rheims and Champagne, a Zurich city tour and a France and Switzerland Eurail pass.

A seven-day/six-night ‘Cafes & Canals’ package combines Amsterdam with Paris, the $908* per person twin share complete with three-nights hotel accommodation in both cities, daily breakfast, two restaurant meals, sightseeing tours and rail travel between Paris and Amsterdam.
